The Alto Casertano road race blending sport and solidarity
Alvignano Corre is the road race that transforms the streets of Alvignano, a small town in the Alto Casertano area of Caserta, into a vibrant ribbon of athletes every summer. Born in 2015 from a group of enthusiasts, the event has grown year after year to become a staple of the Campania running calendar, attracting both seasoned runners and casual amateurs united by the joy of running together.
The competitive event features a 9.9-kilometer course starting and finishing in Piazza Notarpaoli, just steps from the town hall. The route, praised by athletes for its constant rhythm changes and rolling sections, winds through the town center and the surrounding countryside, offering a challenging finale that tests both legs and heart. Timing is managed via electronic chip systems, with video finish line monitoring and official rankings. The race is included in the FIDAL Campania and ASI calendars and serves as a stage of the ASI Campania Felix Running Circuit.
Since its inception, Alvignano Corre has been more than just a sporting competition; it is a moment of community and remembrance. The race carries a strong memorial value, linked to figures dear to the local association and athletics scene, and is designed as a gathering occasion for the entire town. Each edition thus blends the competitive spirit of the fastest runners with the festive participation of families, youth, and spectators who crowd the streets to cheer on the participants.
Recent editions have confirmed the event's vitality: hundreds of ranked finishers and dozens of clubs from across Campania have enlivened the streets of Alto Casertano, showcasing a thriving regional running scene. The Alvignano road race has carved out a prominent place among local road races, thanks to the meticulous organization by ASD Alvignano Running and the steadfast support of the Municipality of Alvignano.
Whether you are racing for a personal best or simply participating for the pleasure of running in good company, Alvignano Corre offers an authentic day of outdoor sport among the streets and hills of the Caserta region. It is an event that perfectly captures the spirit of the Alvignano community: welcoming, passionate, and capable of turning a race into a true collective celebration.
