The Alpini Barbecue is the summer festival organized by the Roncola Alpini Group, a municipality in the Valle Imagna in the province of Bergamo. It takes place in August at the Roncola San Bernardo sports field, on Via Canale, and is spread over several weekends, becoming one of the most cherished events of the town's summer.
Mountain Cuisine and Evenings of Music
The menu is the hearty and generous one of the Bergamasco tradition: barbecued meats, casoncelli, polenta taragna, and typical dishes, served from 7 PM onwards. The evenings are enlivened by music and concerts: tributes to Italian songs, evenings dedicated to the greatest hits of the '70s, '80s, and '90s, and performances by dance schools. There are also inflatable attractions for children and a free shuttle bus service.
The Livestock Exhibition
Among the most characteristic moments is the livestock exhibition, which in 2025 reached its 61st edition: a day dedicated to the evaluation of livestock, reflecting the agricultural and mountainous vocation of the Valle Imagna. The festival thus intertwines Alpini conviviality, mountain cuisine, and the rural culture of the territory, in an event created by the volunteers of the Roncola Alpini Group, in the province of Bergamo.

For 2026, the Alpini Barbecue returns to the Roncola San Bernardo sports field during its usual August slot, over several weekends. The festival, organized by the Roncola Alpini Group, confirms the formula that combines mountain cuisine – barbecues, polenta taragna, casoncelli – with evenings of music and concerts, inflatable attractions for children, and the traditional livestock exhibition.
