The "live" journalism festival in San Bonifacio
The name recalls the acta diurna of ancient Rome, the first news bulletins posted in the Forum. In San Bonifacio, a town in eastern Verona in the province of Verona, this name christens a festival of "live" journalism that brings Italy's top journalists to the square. The event, promoted by Libreria Bonturi with the patronage of the Municipality of San Bonifacio, Confcommercio Verona, and Pro Loco, takes place in the PalaActa, the tensile structure set up in Piazza Costituzione.
For three days, economists, war correspondents, constitutionalists, sociologists, and writers take turns on stage to discuss and analyze the major issues of current affairs: from international geopolitical crises to local environmental issues, from economics explained accessibly to the transformations of democracy. The meetings are free and open to all, designed for a curious audience that wants to better understand the world around them.
Alongside the big national names, Acta Diurna also gives space to local investigations โ such as the one on the PFAS emergency that affected the Veneto region โ confirming its vocation as a festival capable of combining the global dimension with the local one. A cultural initiative that has carved out a prominent place in the Italian journalism festival scene.
The 2026 edition of Acta Diurna animated the PalaActa in San Bonifacio from May 8 to 10, with three intense days of free meetings dedicated to the major issues of current affairs. Topics ranged from economics explained by Carlo Cottarelli to the environmental investigation into PFAS in Veneto, from the geopolitics of the Mediterranean and the Black Sea to reflections on the crisis of democracy, and global scenarios analyzed by Maurizio Molinari. A lineup of top Italian journalists and cultural figures, brought together by Libreria Bonturi.
All meetings were held at the PalaActa in Piazza Costituzione, with free admission.
San Bonifacio is well-connected: train station on the Milan-Venice line and the Soave-San Bonifacio highway exit (A4). The PalaActa is set up in Piazza Costituzione, in the town center.
Free admission to all meetings.
Organization by Libreria Bonturi of San Bonifacio.
