Abatemarco Eggplant and Ancient Flavors Festival

The 2025 edition

The Eggplant and Ancient Flavors Festival was held in Abatemarco, a hamlet of Montano Antilia (Province of Salerno, Campania), from Friday, August 1st to Sunday, August 3rd, 2025, with stalls opening in Piazza Padre Rocco Serra starting at 8:00 PM.

A sold-out opening night

The local press reported a very well-attended debut: hundreds of attendees on the very first night, with the village square transformed into a large open-air dining area. The menu, built almost entirely on eggplants from local gardens, featured parmigiana alongside traditional Cilento rural dishes. The dinner was accompanied by folk music, which gave the evening a rustic and festive tone, involving adults and children alike.

Words from the organizers

The Associazione Mamme Insieme, which has managed the event for years, summarized the meaning of the initiative: to enhance the rural roots of the village and create moments of authentic sharing. An edition described by the organizers themselves as an explosion of taste and authenticity capable of telling the story of their land—and which paved the way for the 19th edition, held on the same dates in 2026.
