The international progressive rock festival in Gattico-Veruno
Every first week of September, the small town of Gattico-Veruno, in the province of Novara, transforms into the Italian capital of prog. 2 Days Prog +1 is now considered the country's most important progressive rock festival: a gathering that started small and has grown to attract international bands and thousands of fans from across Europe to the Revislate district. The 17th edition is scheduled from September 4th to 6th, 2026, at the Revislate Sports Field.
Behind the event is the Ver1Musica cultural association, a group of volunteers who have spent years curating a line-up of rare quality, with a keen eye on both major international names and Italian talent. The philosophy is that of a community event: a symbolic entry fee, affordable prices, and a direct connection with the artists, who often stay to chat with the audience.
The name itself explains the formula: two "heavy" days plus one, for a long weekend entirely dedicated to prog. Before the concerts on the main stage, the Auditorium Forum19 in Veruno hosts Meet&Greet sessions every afternoon with bands and labels—a beloved tradition that brings fans closer to the musicians. The main concerts take place outdoors on the sports field, in an informal and family-friendly atmosphere.
The strength of 2 Days Prog +1 lies in its cosmopolitan programming: alongside historic Italian progressive groups, bands from the UK, Sweden, Germany, Japan, and Canada take the stage. For a town of a few thousand inhabitants like Gattico-Veruno, it is an extraordinary cultural and tourist showcase, bringing Upper Piedmont and the province of Novara to the attention of a niche but incredibly loyal audience, nestled between the lakes and hills just a stone's throw from Lake Maggiore.
The 2 Days Prog +1 confirms its historic early September appointment for 2026 in Gattico-Veruno, in the province of Novara. The 17th edition takes place from September 4th to 6th at the Revislate Sports Field, maintaining the formula of a long weekend of open-air concerts and Meet&Greet sessions with artists at the Auditorium Forum19.
Among the names already announced are Voyage 35, an ensemble reuniting bassist Colin Edwin and guitarist John Wesley (both linked to Porcupine Tree) to perform rare early material from the band live, complete with a vintage light show, and the Swedish band SOEN, one of the most acclaimed prog-metal acts on the current scene.
The detailed daily program, including set times and the rest of the line-up, will be published by the Ver1Musica organization in the months preceding the festival. As per tradition, concerts on the main stage begin in the late afternoon, preceded by Meet&Greet sessions at the Auditorium Forum19 in Veruno.
The festival takes place at the Sports Field in the Revislate district, Gattico-Veruno (NO). By car, it is accessible via the A26 motorway (Borgomanero or Arona exits) or the A4; it is also easily reachable from the shores of Lake Maggiore. The nearest train station is Borgomanero, on the Novara–Domodossola line.
Entry is by symbolic contribution: in the last edition, the cost was just a few euros per day or a discounted three-day pass, with further reductions for Ver1Musica members. Presale is managed online via Ciaotickets.
Bring a folding chair or a blanket: the concerts are held outdoors on the grass. Catering services are available on-site. A light jacket is recommended for the September evenings.
