About Winter Riders

Winter Riders is the adventouring motorcycle rally organized by Moto Club Riding Marche, bringing enduro and maxi-enduro enthusiasts to discover the dirt trails of the Marche hinterland. The 2026 edition chose the medieval village of Genga, in the heart of the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi Regional Park, in the province of Ancona, as its base. Two days of predominantly dirt trails with high scenic impact, with GPX tracks, among the Frasassi caves, woods, and Apennine ridges.

An Adventouring Rally in the Heart of the Marche

Winter Riders is a non-competitive motorcycle tourism event organized by Moto Club Riding Marche A.S.D., affiliated with CSEN, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the Marche territory through off-road motorcycle tourism. It is an adventouring event, where participants follow GPX tracks on predominantly dirt routes, far from the beaten paths. The event is aimed at lovers of two-wheeled adventure seeking authentic landscapes and itineraries off the traditional tourist circuits.

The 2026 Edition in Genga, Amidst the Frasassi Caves

For 2026, the rally's headquarters has been set in Genga, a small medieval village perched on a hill in the upper Esino valley, enclosed by the castle walls and nestled within the Gola della Rossa and Frasassi Regional Natural Park, in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. This area is famous for the Frasassi Caves, one of the most important underground complexes in Europe, and for gems like the Tempio del Valadier, the Hermitage of Santa Maria Infra Saxa, and the Romanesque Abbey of San Vittore delle Chiuse. Participants will meet at the Hotel Terme di Frasassi.

The Routes

The program spans two days and covers a total distance of approximately three hundred kilometers:

  • Saturday: a prologue of about 100 km starting in the early afternoon.
  • Sunday: the main route of about 200 km, with a morning briefing and a refreshment stop at an agriturismo along the route.

The routes are designed primarily for twin-cylinder motorcycles and run on dirt roads with significant scenic impact. Given the winter season, rocky ground sections have been selected to avoid muddy stretches. All enduro, dual, and adventure bikes are welcome, from specialized single-cylinders to maxi-enduros and twin-cylinders, with no weight limits, as long as they comply with traffic regulations. Knobby tires are recommended.

Participation and Registration

Participation is limited to a maximum of 100 motorcycles, and a CSEN membership card is required. The 2026 edition was sold out well in advance. The rally emphasizes not only the sporting aspect but also the convivial and tourist experience, with the possibility of staying in affiliated hotels in the area and discovering the natural and gastronomic excellences of the Municipality of Genga and the Marche region.
