About Wine and Art, What a Passion

Every spring, the Baroque Casino dell'Aurora Pallavicini, a hidden gem in the heart of Rome, opens its doors for "Wine and Art, What a Passion!", an elegant event that blends the tasting of fine Italian wines with the discovery of one of the Capital's most precious artistic treasures. Over fifty selected wineries welcome the public amidst the gardens and frescoed halls of the palace, where Guido Reni's "Aurora" takes center stage. A sensory journey that combines exquisite glasses of wine, expert-led guided tours, and the magic of Roman historical heritage.

Wine and Art, What a Passion: where the glass meets the masterpiece

Wine and Art, What a Passion! is one of the most refined wine and culture events in Rome: a spring appointment that, since 2016, has invited enthusiasts, sommeliers, and the curious to experience a day suspended between Italian winemaking excellence and the beauty of the Capital's artistic heritage. Conceived and organized by CT Consulting Events, the event is held in the exclusive setting of the Casino dell'Aurora Pallavicini, in the Monti district, a stone's throw from the Quirinal Palace, in the territory of the Municipality of Rome, in Lazio.

A Baroque residence that is a work of art in itself

The Casino dell'Aurora Pallavicini is one of the most hidden and fascinating jewels of Roman Baroque. It was built in the early 17th century at the behest of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, on the ruins of the Baths of Constantine, based on a design by the Flemish architect Jan van Santen, known in Italy as Giovanni Vasanzio. Inside, visitors can admire the Aurora by Guido Reni, the 1614 fresco that gives the palace its name and fame, considered one of the pinnacles of European painting and among the most copied works in art history. The rooms also house paintings from the famous Pallavicini Collection, marble reliefs from Roman sarcophagi, and elegant architectural elements such as the Scala della Pastorella.

The formula: tastings and guided tours

The heart of the event is the meeting of two passions. On one hand, the tasting counters set up in the gardens and rooms of the residence, where over fifty carefully selected Italian wineries present their labels to the public. On the other, the guided tours led by art historians, who accompany participants to discover the frescoes, collections, and centuries-old history of the Casino. In past editions, the day has also been enriched by exceptional gastronomic moments, with the participation of Michelin-starred chefs.

A public of enthusiasts

  • Wine lovers and the simply curious eager to discover quality wines
  • Sommeliers and industry professionals, with dedicated rates
  • Art and heritage lovers, drawn by the extraordinary opening of a residence that is normally not very accessible
  • Visitors looking for an exclusive and convivial experience in the center of Rome

An event in the heart of the Capital

Located on Via 24 Maggio, within the Palazzo Pallavicini Rospigliosi complex, the Casino dell'Aurora is in a privileged position between the Quirinal and the Imperial Fora, easily reachable on foot from the main attractions of the historic center. Wine and Art, What a Passion is thus much more than a simple tasting: it is an invitation to rediscover Rome through its flavors and beauty, in a combination that has made the event a long-awaited classic of the Roman spring.
