About Wild Fennel Festival

The Pergola Wild Fennel Festival celebrates one of the most ancient aromas of Mediterranean cuisine, wild fennel, presented in rustic and generous dishes of the Marche tradition. For four days, the Bocciodromo Park comes alive with food stalls, live music, a children's area, and the convivial atmosphere typical of village festivals. Tagliatelle in porchetta, beans and pork rind, capocollo, and rabbit in porchetta accompany evenings of fun organized by the young people of the Municipality of Pergola, in the province of Pesaro and Urbino.

A festival dedicated to wild fennel

The Wild Fennel Festival is one of the most cherished gastronomic festivals in Pergola, a town in the hilly hinterland of the province of Pesaro and Urbino, in Marche. At the heart of the event is wild fennel, an ancient and versatile aroma in Mediterranean cuisine, which here becomes the star of rustic and flavorful recipes, preserved by the region's peasant tradition.

Specialties at the table

The food stalls offer generous dishes of Marche cuisine, prepared and served for lunch and dinner. Among the most beloved dishes are:

  • Tagliatelle in porchetta, seasoned with the intense aroma of wild fennel
  • Beans and pork rind, a humble and tasty traditional dish
  • Capocollo and bagiana
  • Rabbit in porchetta, a classic festive dish

Takeaway service is also available for those who want to bring the flavors of the festival home.

Music, fun, and conviviality

In addition to good food, the Wild Fennel Festival offers a rich program of live music, dancing evenings, and entertainment for all ages. The dedicated space for children, with games and inflatables, makes the event suitable for families. The atmosphere is that of a typical village festival, where the meeting of generations and the rediscovery of local flavors are an integral part of the experience.

A local event

The festival is organized by the Wild Fennel Festival Staff, a group of young volunteers from the Pergola community, and takes place at the Bocciodromo Park, a large green space suitable for hosting stalls and a stage for performances. The event represents an opportunity to promote the typical products and gastronomic traditions of the Municipality of Pergola, a town also known for the famous Gilded Bronzes and part of the Montefeltro circuit of art and taste territories.

Why participate

Those who choose to visit Pergola during the festival will find an authentic celebration, far from mass tourism, where they can enjoy genuine specialties at popular prices and experience Marche hospitality. An ideal experience to discover a lesser-known corner of Marche, amidst hills, history, and flavors of the past.
