Recoaro and the Golden Age of Thermalism

The Water Festival is the historical re-enactment with which Recoaro Terme, a spa town in the Piccole Dolomiti (Little Dolomites) in the province of Vicenza, celebrates its deep connection with water and thermalism. The event brings back to life the atmosphere of the late 19th century, when Recoaro was a renowned spa resort frequented by the European bourgeoisie seeking the beneficial properties of its waters.

A Belle Époque Set

For the festival, the squares and streets of the center are transformed thanks to careful staging and dedicated entertainment: figures in period costumes, sumptuous horse-drawn carriages, and historic cars connect the center to the Central Springs, recreating the splendor of the Belle Époque. The 19th-century spa retreat ritual is thus relived, amidst elegant strolls and social gatherings.

Operettas, Markets, and Tastings

The program combines theatrical and musical performances and operettas, small concerts spread throughout the town, a craft market, and the opportunity to taste the thermal waters of Recoaro, the true protagonists of local tradition. An event that unites historical memory, culture, and identity, enhancing the thermal heritage of a municipality that has made water its distinctive feature.
