About Vittorio Veneto Section Alpini Gathering
The black hats celebrate
The Section Gathering is the most important event of the year for the ANA Section of Vittorio Veneto, in the province of Treviso: the rally that brings together the alpine groups of the territory for two days of celebration, remembrance, and friendship. Each edition is hosted by a different Municipality in the Section, which for a weekend becomes the heart of the alpine community.
The rally in Fregona
In 2026, the Section Gathering is welcomed in Fregona, in the Treviso Prealps, coinciding with an important anniversary of the local Alpini Group. The program alternates solemn moments — the flag-raising, honors to the fallen, speeches by authorities, the parade — with festive ones, featuring alpine choirs and the traditional alpine meal.
A community ritual
The Gathering is not just a ceremony, but a collective ritual that intertwines the memory of the fallen, the values of the Alpini corps, and the spirit of service to the territory. The village streets fill with hats adorned with feathers, pennants, and mountain songs.
Vittorio Veneto Section Alpini Gathering — edition 2026
The 2026 Section Gathering of the ANA Section of Vittorio Veneto is hosted in Fregona on the weekend of April 11th and 12th, coinciding with the anniversary of the founding of the local Alpini Group. Two days that alternate solemn ceremonies, mountain choirs, and moments of conviviality.
Saturday is dedicated to the inauguration of the monument to the alpine hat and the concert of the Section's choirs; Sunday features the grand gathering of groups, with flag-raising, honors to the fallen, a parade through the village streets, and Holy Mass.

Saturday, April 11th
- 5:30 PM — Inauguration of the monument to the alpine hat along Via Vittorio Veneto
- 8:45 PM — Concert in the church by the Section's alpine choirs: Coro ANA, Coro Col di Lana, and Coro Mesulano
Sunday, April 12th
- 9:00 AM — Assembly of groups in Mezzavilla, in front of Fregona town hall
- Flag-raising, honors to the fallen, speeches by authorities
- Parade along the main road to the parish church
- 11:00 AM — Holy Mass
- Following — traditional alpine meal in the area set up at the sports field

How to get there
Fregona is located in the Prealps north of Vittorio Veneto, reachable by car from the A27 motorway (exit Vittorio Veneto Nord) and then following signs for Fregona and the Grotte del Caglieron.
