Europe's largest vintage kilo sale lands in the Ostiense district
Vinokilo is an international brand founded in Germany in 2016 with a clear philosophy: to slow down fast fashion by giving second-hand garments a new life. Since then, the company has brought its traveling events to dozens of European cities, and for several years now, it has been a regular fixture in Rome, in the heart of the Ostiense district. Each event transforms an industrial space into a massive vintage market, where thousands of curated pieces await rediscovery.
The formula that made the event famous is simple and revolutionary: clothes are not priced by brand or rarity, but by the kilo. Visitors can freely browse the racks, choose their favorite items, and take them to the weighing station, where the price is calculated based on the actual weight. Prices typically range between 45 and 55 euros per kilo, depending on the day. This system offers great shopping freedom and turns the experience into a true treasure hunt.
The assortment spans several decades: shirts, jackets, trench coats, denim, knitwear, and accessories from the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Each piece is unique and tells a story, offering those seeking a personal style the chance to build a wardrobe that breaks away from mass-produced fashion.
At the heart of the project is a strong environmental commitment. Reusing clothes means reducing water consumption, CO2 emissions, and textile waste that characterize the fashion industry. Vinokilo promotes a model of circular economy, with a plastic-free philosophy and cashless payments. Social responsibility is also a priority, with initiatives like the Give Back Bar dedicated to garment reuse.
The Roman home of the event is Industrie Fluviali, located at Via del Porto Fluviale 35, a cultural ecosystem housed in a former industrial complex in the Ostiense district. The space, now a landmark for events, exhibitions, and creative projects in the capital, provides the ideal setting for a market that bridges the gap between recycling, design, and urban culture. The neighborhood, served by the Roma Ostiense train station and the metro, is one of the most vibrant in Rome.
Each event is designed as a full-rounded experience: beyond the vintage racks, Vinokilo events feature live music and DJ sets, a wine corner, and a convivial atmosphere that keeps the public entertained all day long. This event in the Municipality of Rome, in the Lazio region, combines fashion, social interaction, and environmental awareness, attracting a young and curious crowd in search of an authentic style.
The vintage-by-the-kilo format returns to the capital with two stops at Industrie Fluviali (Via del Porto Fluviale 35, Ostiense): the first on February 21 and 22, 2026, and the second on May 9 and 10, 2026. On both occasions, thousands of vintage garments will be available for sale by weight, in an environment animated by music and a convivial atmosphere.
Clothes can be chosen freely and paid for by the kilo, with prices ranging from 45 to 55 euros. The event reaffirms its commitment to sustainable fashion and the circular economy in one of Rome's most creative locations.
