Edition 2025 — Vino Cotto Festival Roccamontepiano
An edition to remember
In 2025, the Vino Cotto Festival of Roccamontepiano celebrated its twenty-fifth edition, marking an important milestone: the recognition of local vino cotto as a Slow Food Presidium. On Saturday, November 8, the afternoon opened with a demonstration of the traditional must-boiling process, followed by the "Vino Cotto 2000-2025" roundtable dedicated to the Presidium, while the evening featured a concert by Domenico & Marianna Soul Live.
On Sunday, November 9, the market fair and food stalls reopened at noon, with demonstrations of grape harvesting, pressing, and must boiling accompanied by folk music and accordions; the grand finale in the evening featured the "Fratelli di Taglia" show by Angelo & Gianluca Big Show and the lottery draw. On the menu were the flavors of the Abruzzo autumn: anellini pasta with seasonal flavors, gnocchi with wild boar ragù, pork shank with vino cotto, wood-fired pizzas, and roasted chestnuts.
