Agricultural Fair, Fiera in Albis and Rabbit Show in the streets of Vergato
Vergato in Fiera is the event that, every year in April, transforms the center of Vergato, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna, into a large space for widespread celebration. For three days, the streets and squares of the town host fairs, markets, exhibitions, and attractions that intertwine peasant tradition, craftsmanship, and popular entertainment. It is a unique event for its characteristics in the entire Bolognese Apennines, deeply rooted in the identity of the local community.
The heart of Vergato in Fiera is the historic Agricultural Fair, which takes place along via Di Vittorio. Reaching its 39th edition in 2026, the fair represents one of the most anticipated moments for industry professionals: exhibition stands, machinery, agricultural equipment, and production realities tell the story of the evolution of mountain agriculture. It is an opportunity for companies, technicians, breeders, and visitors to meet, where the rural tradition of the Apennines dialogues with innovation.
In the spaces of the Agricultural Consortium in via Minghetti, the historic Interregional Rabbit Show returns, dedicated to purebred rabbits. A must-see event for enthusiasts, breeders, and the curious, which attracts exhibitors from various regions and keeps alive a zootechnical tradition typical of the area.
Sunday is dedicated to the Fiera in Albis, the ancient Sunday in Albis fair that enlivens the center of Vergato with over eighty stalls of vendors, exhibitors, and themed markets: from creative crafts to local agricultural products, from hobbies to vintage, from antiques to upcycling. The festival concludes on Monday with the weekly market, which for the occasion moves to the streets of the historic center, accompanied by the market of creative crafts and local agricultural products in via Garibaldi.
The funfair, set up in Piazza IV Novembre and Piazza XXV Aprile, serves as the backdrop for the entire event, remaining active for several days with rides and attractions for all ages. Amidst the aromas of gastronomy, stalls, and moments of socializing, Vergato in Fiera offers an authentic image of an Apennine village coming together around its traditions.
The 2026 edition of Vergato in Fiera was held from Saturday, April 11 to Monday, April 13. The 39th Agricultural Fair took place along via Di Vittorio, alongside the Interregional Rabbit Show in the spaces of the Agricultural Consortium in via Minghetti. On Sunday, April 12, the Fiera in Albis enlivened the historic center with over eighty stalls featuring crafts, local products, vintage items, and antiques. On Monday, April 13, the weekly market moved to the streets of the center, with the craft market in via Garibaldi. The funfair operated in Piazza IV Novembre and Piazza XXV Aprile from April 2 to 13.
Vergato is located along the Reno valley, in the Bolognese Apennines. By car, it can be reached from the SS64 Porrettana; by train from the Bologna-Pistoia line, with a stop at Vergato station just a short walk from the historic center.
