The challenge between the municipalities of Valsabbia in Serle
The Valsabbino Palio is a sporting and traditional event that pits teams from the municipalities of Valsabbia, in the province of Brescia, against each other. In Serle, the palio takes place alongside the Summer Festival, transforming the town into a large playground where local pride is tempered by conviviality.
The heart of the event is the team competition: each participating municipality fields its representatives in a series of tests that mix sport and games, such as the relay race, darts, the egg-and-spoon race, dodgeball, and flag throwing. The teams, composed of men, women, and reserves residing in their respective municipalities, compete in a spirit of healthy competition that involves entire communities.
In addition to the race, the day is an occasion for celebration for Serle and for all of Valsabbia: the Summer Festival accompanies the palio with moments of leisure and meeting, enhancing the bond between the valley's municipalities. Organized by the Pro Loco of Serle, the event celebrates local traditions and the sense of belonging to the Brescia territory.
On July 4, 2026, Serle hosts the Valsabbino Palio, the team challenge between the municipalities of Valsabbia, combined with the Summer Festival. A day of skill tests, sport, and conviviality that enlivens the town center.
Each municipality participates with a team of adult residents (e.g., Paitone fields 5 women, 5 men, and 2 reserves).
