An evening of live music in the hamlet of Mottaziana, in the heart of Val Tidone
Every summer, the Val Tidone Festival transforms the small municipalities of Valtidone and Valluretta into open-air stages, and Borgonovo Val Tidone is one of the most anticipated stops on the programme. In the Municipality of Borgonovo Val Tidone, in the province of Piacenza (Emilia-Romagna), the festival annually chooses evocative locations in the area — courtyards, castles, hamlets — to host evening concerts that attract music lovers from all over the valley and from the city of Piacenza.
Promoted by the Val Tidone Musica Foundation and supported by the Fondazione di Piacenza e Vigevano, the Val Tidone Festival is a historic event that annually involves all the municipalities of Valtidone-Valluretta — including Borgonovo Val Tidone, Agazzano, Pianello, Castel San Giovanni, Sarmato, Gragnano Trebbiense, Calendasco, Piozzano, and Ziano Piacentino — as well as the provincial capital, Piacenza. The artistic direction is entrusted to Livio Bollani.
The festival's programme features major names in Italian songwriting, established jazz musicians, ensembles dedicated to world music sounds, and young emerging talents, often from the prestigious Val Tidone International Competitions. The travelling format allows attendees to discover live music and the villages, castles, and squares of the Piacenza valley at the same time.
The Borgonovo stop is part of a journey that, every summer, brings artists capable of exciting audiences of all ages to the valley, in an intimate and welcoming setting far from large arenas.
The 28th edition of the Val Tidone Festival (June 7 - October 16, 2026, 17 concerts) stops in Borgonovo Val Tidone on Saturday, July 25, 2026. In the hamlet of Mottaziana, at 9:15 PM, the Iguazù Acoustic Trio with guest singer Deborah Falanga will take the stage.
The show "From Brazil to Cuba" offers a journey through South American sounds, from Brazil to Cuba, with Fabio Gianni on piano, Marco Mistrangelo on bass, and Alex Battini de Barreiro on drums and percussion. An evening outdoors in the Municipality of Borgonovo Val Tidone (Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna), celebrating Latin and author music.
