The neighborhood festival of Municipality 2 at the Martesana Amphitheater
Turro e Gorla — Quartieri in Festa is the event that brings the festival to the Turro and Gorla neighborhoods, in Municipality 2 of Milan. The event is part of the "Quartieri in Festa" project, an initiative by Municipality 2 born to evoke the historical and cultural identity of the old villages that in the past were not part of the Municipality of Milan, bringing city culture back to the streets and squares.
The heart of the festival is the Martesana Amphitheater, in the Martyrs of Iraqi Freedom Park, along via Agordat. A green and civic space that for the day transforms into a widespread stage, welcoming the inhabitants of the two neighborhoods in a climate of meeting and sharing.
The program is extensive and varied: exhibitions, debates, and book presentations on the neighborhoods, shows, performances by local musical groups, an artisan and agricultural market, book sharing service, and activities for children. A mosaic of proposals that enhances the associations, committees, and social realities of the area.
The event is made possible through the collaboration between Municipality 2 and local associations, including Happy Days and Amici della Musica, with the involvement of numerous local committees and organizations. Access is free and open, in line with the community spirit of the project: making the Turro and Gorla neighborhoods a place of culture, memory, and community in the heart of Municipality 2 of Milan.
