The Carnival of the Town on the Trigno
The Trivento Carnival is one of the most colorful events of the winter in the town in the province of Campobasso, famous for its monumental staircase of San Nicola. The event features the classic parade of allegorical floats, created by local associations, which crosses the main streets of the town amidst costumes, masks, and confetti.
A Celebration for All Ages
The procession involves adults and children and winds its way to Piazza Calvario, the heart of the celebration, where a food & beverage area and an evening DJ set extend the festivities. The formula combines Molise's carnival tradition with modern musical entertainment, in a single great explosion of joy.
A Community Event
The preparation of the floats and costumes is a moment of strong community gathering for the people of Trivento: associations, families, and young people from the town work for weeks, renewing each year a tradition that is part of the identity of this Molise village.
Trivento Carnival — edition 2026
The Trivento Carnival 2026 took place on Saturday, February 21. The assembly of the floats was at 2:00 PM at the roundabout in Via Iconicella, from where the parade, enlivened by costumes, confetti, and imagination, started through the main streets of the town, reaching Piazza Calvario.
Here the party continued with a food & beverage area and an evening DJ set, in an event designed for all ages, where tradition and modernity met in a single great explosion of joy.

How to Get There
Trivento can be reached by car from the SS650 Trignina or from Campobasso. The parade assembly point is at the roundabout in Via Iconicella; the procession ends in Piazza Calvario.
Tips
Free admission. The parade takes place in the afternoon; in the evening, the food & beverage area and DJ set liven up Piazza Calvario.
