Edition 2025 — Tra masche e diaulot

"Tra masche e diaulot" was established in 2026 as the Varisella stop of the new Festival dei Saperi of the Valli di Lanzo. In previous seasons, Varisella and the surrounding valleys had already cultivated a rich calendar of festivals, fairs, and initiatives linked to folk traditions, ancient crafts, and the legends of the masche that animate this corner of Piedmont.

Before the first edition in 2026, the cultural identity of Varisella (Metropolitan City of Turin) was already strongly rooted in the traditions of the Valli di Lanzo: ancient mountain crafts, the flavors of local cuisine, and above all, the folklore of the masche, the mysterious figures of Piedmontese tradition to which the territory dedicates research and storytelling.

The nickname diaulot ("little devils") by which the town's inhabitants are known also has its roots in popular memory. It is upon this intangible heritage that the Unione Montana delle Valli di Lanzo, Ceronda e Casternone built the Festival dei Saperi and the Varisella event in 2026, giving shape and name to a day entirely dedicated to these stories.
