"The Avenue Carnival is Disney" is the event that, on Fat Tuesday, lights up the Abissinia district of Riccione, in the Province of Rimini, in the heart of the Romagna Riviera. For an afternoon, Piazzetta San Martino and a portion of Viale San Martino become an open-air stage designed especially for children and families, with an atmosphere that evokes the characters and suggestions of the Disney world.

Who organizes it

The event is promoted and curated by the Riccione Abissinia Committee, the association of traders and residents that enlivens the neighborhood throughout the year, with the patronage of the Municipality of Riccione. It is a typical example of a Romagna neighborhood festival: it arises from the grassroots, from the desire of those who live and work on the avenue to create opportunities for socializing and attraction, and it grows from edition to edition thanks to the enthusiasm of the local community.

What to expect

The program is entirely free and designed for children: from face painting that transforms faces into favorite characters to animation games, from baby dance to stilt walker shows and giant soap bubbles, to creative workshops with paper and colors. Completing the party are the inevitable Carnival treats.
