Thailand comes to Parco delle Valli: culture, flavors, and performances from the East
The Thai Festival Rome, officially promoted as "Thailand in Festival in Rome", transforms the Parco delle Valli along Via Conca d'Oro into a little Bangkok in the heart of the capital for a weekend. Held in the Conca d'Oro district in Rome's Municipio III, the event is designed as a complete immersion into Thai culture: art, spirituality, gastronomy, sports, and live entertainment are woven together in a journey suitable for the whole family.
The festival is promoted by the Royal Thai Embassy in Rome together with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The goal is to showcase Thailand as a vibrant and welcoming tourist destination through authentic, multisensory experiences in an open and free festive setting.
The delicious heart of the event is Thai cuisine, served in its most genuine form at street food stalls. Featured dishes include the famous pad thai, stir-fried basil chicken (kra pao kai), spicy pad ki mao noodles, fragrant curries, spicy soups, tropical fruit, and the essential mango sticky rice. Typical drinks such as Thai tea (cha thai) and local beers are also available.
The main stage hosts Thai dance performances in ceremonial costumes and Muay Thai demonstrations, the noble martial art considered the country's national sport, featuring professional athletes and exhibition matches. The park's green spaces also host traditional Thai massage sessions, while a market offers handicrafts, decorations, and natural products imported directly from Thailand.
With free admission and continuous hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thai Festival Rome is one of the most intriguing intercultural events on the capital's and the entire Lazio region's calendar: a chance to travel to the East without leaving Rome, surrounded by the scent of spices, vibrant colors, and famous Thai hospitality.
The 2026 event animated Rome's Parco delle Valli over the weekend of May 9th and 10th, with continuous hours from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and free admission. Promoted by the Royal Thai Embassy and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the festival offered a rich program of performances, gastronomy, and activities for audiences of all ages.
