About Terraè

Now in its seventeenth edition, Terraè is the festival that the Pordenone area dedicates to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Throughout the month of May, conferences, workshops, concerts, and walks animate Pordenone, Porcia, Chions, and Cordenons around themes such as synergistic gardens, sustainable tourism, waste reduction, and energy transition.

A workshop of ideas for the planet

Terraè - Workshop of Sustainability is one of the longest-running and most distinctive events in western Friuli dedicated to environmental issues. Promoted by the social promotion association of the same name and supported by the local Municipalities, the event is the result of a self-financed civic commitment that manages to combine scientific content, sensory experiences, and concrete actions for environmental protection. The seventeenth edition takes place throughout May 2026 in Pordenone, Porcia, Chions, and Cordenons, with the theme 'Cultivating Harmonies'.

Learning by doing

The heart of the festival are the workshops, from theoretical and practical synergistic gardening to artistic techniques such as cyanotype printing. Guided walks in nature – along the rivers, through the hedges and woods of the area – transform the Friuli landscape into an open-air classroom, while concerts and performances enrich the program with a cultural and emotional dimension.

Conferences and authoritative voices

Terraè's conferences address the major issues of contemporary life: sustainable travel, reduction of food waste, energy communities, and ecological transition. The event hosts experts and researchers, building an open dialogue between science, citizenship, and local administrations. It is a festival that does not just talk about sustainability, but invites you to practice it in everyday life.

A networked territory

The value of Terraè lies in its widespread and participatory dimension: four municipalities in the Pordenone area, dozens of associations, schools, and local realities collaborate to build a program that intertwines environment, culture, and community. An event that makes Pordenone a small Italian capital of sustainability culture.
