About Teatini in Musica

Teatini in Musica is the summer festival promoted by the Camerata Musicale Salentina, transforming the evocative Chiostro dei Teatini in Lecce into an elegant open-air lounge dedicated to great live music. Three consecutive evenings of orchestral jazz, tributes to 20th-century masters, and contemporary tango sounds, all set in the heart of the Baroque capital of Salento, Puglia. A refined rendezvous blending tradition and innovation under the Salento summer sky.

Teatini in Musica: live music in the Baroque heart of Lecce

Teatini in Musica is the summer festival organized by the Camerata Musicale Salentina, bringing world-class live music to one of the most enchanting venues in Salento: the Chiostro dei Teatini, an architectural jewel nestled in the Baroque heart of Lecce, in the province of Lecce, Puglia. For several summer evenings, the cloister's portico becomes a sophisticated open-air lounge where audiences can enjoy high-quality music beneath the starry Salento sky.

A sonic journey through jazz, classical, and tango

The festival features a diverse and carefully curated program that spans various genres while maintaining a high artistic standard. The common thread is the ongoing dialogue between tradition and innovation: from orchestral jazz to reinterpretations of great 20th-century composers, and the fusion of contemporary tango with Mediterranean musical cultures. Each evening is designed as a concert-show, where music occasionally intertwines with spoken word and visuals, offering the audience an immersive experience rather than a simple performance.

The Chiostro dei Teatini, a unique setting

The Chiostro dei Teatini is one of the most evocative spaces in Lecce, a city world-renowned for its Baroque architecture. The choice of this location is no coincidence: the intimate acoustics of the portico and the cozy atmosphere create an ideal setting for chamber music and jazz concerts, where the audience feels like an integral part of the show. The festival thus helps to highlight the city's historical and artistic heritage, combining cultural enjoyment with the discovery of the local area.

Organization and support

Teatini in Musica is produced by the Camerata Musicale Salentina, a historic local concert institution, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lecce and with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Puglia Region. The festival is part of the rich summer calendar of events that brings Lecce and Salento to life every year, offering residents and tourists alike a high-quality opportunity to experience the city after sunset.
