The Carnival of the Cansiglio Plateau
The Tambre-Spert-Cansiglio Plateau Carnival is the Carnival celebration that enlivens the Cansiglio Plateau, in the territory of Tambre and the Municipality of Alpago, in the province of Belluno. Organized by Pro Loco Tambre, active in the area since 1950, it involves the hamlets of Tambre, Spert, and Cansiglio in a grand community festival.
Masks and Mountain Tradition
The event features the traditional masked parade, with floats, masked groups, and entertainment that winds through the village streets. It is an authentic Carnival, far from the major tourist circuits, reflecting the convivial spirit of the mountain communities of the Venetian Prealps.
A Festival for the Whole Community
Amidst confetti, music, and festive moments, the Plateau Carnival is an eagerly awaited event for both adults and children, capable of bringing together the inhabitants of the hamlets and visitors in a day of joy in the suggestive setting of Cansiglio, one of the largest and most fascinating beech forests in Italy.

The 2026 edition marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Plateau Carnival. On Sunday, February 15, the hamlets of Tambre, Spert, and Cansiglio come alive with the masked parade, floats, and entertainment, in a community festival curated by Pro Loco Tambre.
