About Sustainable Development Festival Pavia

Every spring, the University of Pavia participates in the Sustainable Development Festival, the major national event promoted by ASviS. For about two weeks, conferences, seminars, workshops, and cultural initiatives animate the university's campuses, addressing the themes of circular economy, ecological transition, and the 2030 Agenda. An opportunity for students, faculty, and citizens to reflect together on the future of the planet, in the heart of Pavia.

Sustainability at the Core

The Sustainable Development Festival is the largest Italian initiative dedicated to sustainability, promoted annually by ASviS (Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development). The University of Pavia, part of the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development (RUS), participates in the festival with a series of initiatives that animate its campuses in the center of Pavia, the capital of its province in Lombardy.

Conferences, Workshops, and Culture

The Pavia program is rich and varied: conferences and seminars, round tables and workshops, experimental laboratories, educational activities, and cultural initiatives such as guided tours, exhibitions, and local explorations. All proposals are aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda, ranging from health to the environment, from gender equality to justice and education.

The Great Themes of Our Time

At the heart of the initiatives are the most pressing issues of the present: circular economy, ecological transition, electronic waste management, and the conscious use of resources. The university makes its scientific expertise available to address these challenges with rigor and community engagement.

A University for the City

The University of Pavia's participation in the Sustainable Development Festival demonstrates the university's role as a cultural driver for the region. By opening its classrooms and historic courtyards to students and citizens, the university makes sustainability a shared theme, contributing to building widespread awareness about the future of the planet.
