The Alpini Festival Under the Stars

Every summer, the Alpini Group of Valeggio sul Mincio, in the province of Verona, organizes its Summer Festival at the Alpini Hut in Ichenhausen Park. It is one of the most cherished local festivals in the Valeggio calendar: for about ten days, straddling late July and early August, the hut transforms into a large outdoor gathering spot.

Tortellini, Grills, and Ballroom Dancing

The heart of the festival is the food and wine stand, which opens every evening around 7:30 PM. On the menu are the tortellini of Valeggio, the pride of the region, also offered in a ricotta and spinach version, along with grilled meats and dishes from Veronese cuisine. Takeaway is also available, bringing your own containers. Each evening is enlivened by ballroom music orchestras and liscio dancing, with the dance floor remaining the star until late at night.

A Community Festival

More than just a local fair, the Summer Alpini Festival is a moment for the community: the proceeds support the solidarity activities of the Alpini Group of Valeggio sul Mincio, true to the service spirit of the "black hats" (Alpini). It's an opportunity to gather outdoors, amidst the morainic hills of the Mincio, just a few kilometers from Lake Garda.
