The ultimate summer celebration of music and culture in the Monti Dauni

The Sul Palco delle Puglie Festival is the flagship summer event of Sant'Agata di Puglia, a picturesque village in the Monti Dauni area of the Foggia province, standing as one of the highest municipalities in Puglia. Organized by the Municipality of Sant'Agata di Puglia, the festival has established itself over the years as one of the most anticipated musical and cultural gatherings in the Capitanata, drawing visitors from across the region and neighboring provinces every August.
The formula behind its success is as simple as it is ambitious: offering high-quality performances for free. The stage, set in the heart of the historic center, hosts nationally and internationally renowned artists, alternating major names in Italian pop music with tributes to beloved songwriters and international acts.
The program spans two weeks in August, transforming the squares and alleys of the medieval historic center into a vast open-air arena. Past editions have featured artists such as Ricchi e Poveri, Rocco Hunt, Willy William, Anna Tatangelo, Nek and Francesco Renga, The Kolors, Irene Grandi, Francesco Gabbani, and Oscar winner Nicola Piovani, alongside numerous tribute concerts to the great Italian songbook, from Pino Daniele to Rino Gaetano.
The summer calendar in Sant'Agata di Puglia goes well beyond music. The festival features a rich cultural program that includes:
Perched at an altitude of nearly 800 meters, Sant'Agata di Puglia overlooks the Cervaro Valley, offering one of the most expansive panoramas in the region. The festival is a perfect opportunity to explore one of the most characteristic Borghi (villages) of the Monti Dauni, with its castle, historic churches, and typical trasonneโthe narrow alleys that give the literary festival its name. Music, words, and heritage intertwine in one of Puglia's most vibrant summer cultural offerings.
The 2026 edition of the Sul Palco delle Puglie Festival is expected this summer in Sant'Agata di Puglia, in the Foggia province. As of now, the Municipality of Sant'Agata di Puglia has not yet announced the official dates or the artistic lineup. As per tradition, the festival is expected to enliven the squares and alleys of the historic center in the second half of August with free concerts, tributes to Italian music, and side events dedicated to literature, cinema, and the promotion of the village. The program will be published on the Municipality's official channels as soon as it becomes available.
Sant'Agata di Puglia is located in the Monti Dauni, in the province of Foggia. By car, it can be reached via the A16 Naples-Canosa motorway (Candela exit) or the A14 (Foggia exit), continuing along the provincial roads of the Monti Dauni. The nearest train station is in Foggia, which is connected by local bus lines.
All festival performances are free of charge. The detailed program is published every summer by the Municipality of Sant'Agata di Puglia on its official channels and social media.
The village is located at a high altitude: comfortable clothing and a light jacket for the evenings are recommended. There are numerous dining options featuring typical products of the Monti Dauni.
