Poetry reading in the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry
Strolling among the Bells is a refined poetry reading held in the Bell Museum and the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry in Agnone, in the province of Isernia. The Marinelli foundry is one of the oldest in the world and has cast bells destined for churches and basilicas on every continent: walking through its spaces while poets read their compositions makes the event a unique experience, suspended between sound and word.
The initiative is promoted by the IPLAC literary circle of Rome together with the Marinelli Foundry, the Alto Molise Study Center, and the Municipality of Agnone. Several poets—especially from Rome and its surroundings—take turns reading, accompanied by the bells and their chimes, on a path that fosters dialogue between artisan tradition and contemporary poetry.
The 2026 edition of Strolling among the Bells was held on May 16 at 5:30 PM in the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry of Agnone. An artistic walk among the bells and their chimes, during which several poets read their compositions, with the music of the bells entrusted to Tonino delli Quadri.
Agnone can be reached by car via the SS650 Trignina or by passing through Isernia (about 45 km). The event is held at the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry and the Bell Museum.
May, in the afternoon (5:30 PM). Free admission event.
