Galleries, studios, and artist workshops open for free for one day in the Monteverde district of Rome
Strade dell'Arte in Monteverde is a grassroots event that, for one full day, turns one of Rome's most vibrant neighborhoods into a large open-air gallery. Born from the Monteverde Cultura project, the initiative aims to showcase the extraordinary number of artistic entities that bring the area to life: in recent years, Monteverde has increasingly established itself on the capital's visual arts scene, thanks to the opening of exhibition spaces, galleries, and artist studios.
On Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, galleries and artistic spaces in the district will remain open with free admission. Around thirty artists, studios, and spaces will welcome you to share their work and passion for art. It is a unique opportunity to meet artists in their ateliers, witness live demonstrations, and discover temporary exhibitions that continue in the following weeks.
Numerous spaces are participating in the spring edition, each with its own exhibition proposal:
The participating spaces are spread along a route of approximately six kilometers that crosses Monteverde Vecchio, Monteverde Nuovo, Gianicolense, and the Colli Portuensi. The organizers provide a map downloadable from their website, allowing you to build your own itinerary between the stops. The area is easily accessible by public transport and is perfect for slow exploration, strolling from one studio to the next.
The event is organized by the Associazione Art Sharing Roma ETS as part of the Monteverde Cultura project, which promotes the network of local artists and artisans. Alongside the spring event, editions are held in other seasons throughout the year, a testament to a creative community that continues to grow in this corner of Rome, in Municipality XII of the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, in Lazio.
