Edition 2025 — SS. Salvatore Festival

The 2025 edition of the SS. Salvatore Festival in Piscinola took place from August 2nd to 6th, following the descent of the statue celebrated on July 22nd. Five days included oratory tournaments, a treasure hunt, games for children, an August street festival, and a preparatory triduum, culminating on Wednesday, August 6th, with solemn masses, a procession through the neighborhood streets, a concert by the Banda della Città di Ailano, and the traditional burning of the bell tower.

How the 2025 edition went

The patronal feast of Piscinola, a district of the Municipality of Naples, kicked off on Saturday, August 2, 2025, with sports exhibitions at the parish oratory, including basketball by Virtus Piscinola and five-a-side football. On Sunday, August 3rd, the triduum of preparation began with morning masses and an afternoon dedicated to a treasure hunt at Villa Musella; Monday, August 4th, featured prize games for children, and Tuesday, August 5th, hosted the August street festival.

On the day of the solemnity, Wednesday, August 6th, celebrations continued from 9:00 AM until the evening mass, presided over by Dean Father Alessandro Gargiulo. At 6:30 PM, the procession departed from Piazza Tafuri, traveling through Via Plebiscito, Vicolo Plebiscito, Via Leo Longanesi, Via Cesare Malpica, Via Vittorio Emanuele, Via Napoli a Piscinola, and Via Vecchia Miano a Piscinola before returning to the parish; the Municipality of Naples had ordered a traffic ban from 6:30 PM for the time required for the procession to pass.

Around 8:00 PM, the concert by the Banda della Città di Ailano, directed by Maestro Giovanni Minafra, took place with a traditional and solemn repertoire. The evening concluded with fireworks and the traditional burning of the bell tower, the most anticipated moment of the entire Piscinola festival.
