An afternoon of music in Vigarano Mainarda in the heart of spring
The Spring Festival is a musical event that every year welcomes the arrival of the warmer season in Vigarano Mainarda, a municipality in the province of Ferrara, in Emilia-Romagna. It is an afternoon of live music that takes place outdoors, in the charming Largo Carlo Rambaldi, the heart of the town's life, where choirs, youth orchestras, and chamber ensembles take turns on stage in an open dialogue between generations and different sound languages.
The event is part of the broader project "Sonate al Chiaro di Luna", promoted by the Municipality of Vigarano Mainarda in collaboration with Theremin Srl Impresa Sociale and the Civic Music School. The initiative was created to promote music as an educational and social tool, building a network with local realities and offering young musicians concrete opportunities for growth, comparison, and performance. The Civic School, managed by Theremin, is considered a model of socio-cultural excellence in the Ferrara area.
The Festival's program highlights the diverse facets of local musical training. It ranges from choral tradition to youth orchestras, up to the more contemporary and jazzy sounds of chamber ensembles. It is an opportunity to hear live the results of the Civic School's educational work and to discover young talents who perform for a real audience, in an informal setting accessible to everyone.
More than just a concert, the Spring Festival is a moment of participation and meeting for the community of Vigarano Mainarda. The outdoor setting of Largo Carlo Rambaldi, free admission, and the festive atmosphere make it an event designed for families, music lovers, and the curious, who can spend an afternoon of spring dedicated to culture and social interaction.
The event is held in the afternoon, generally in the second half of April, in Largo Carlo Rambaldi. Located in the Ferrara plain, Vigarano Mainarda is easily accessible from Ferrara and neighboring towns, and it is a pleasant destination for those who want to combine music with exploring the Emilia-Romagna region.
The 2026 edition was held on Saturday, April 18th at 5:30 PM in Largo Carlo Rambaldi, in Vigarano Mainarda, as part of the "Sonate al Chiaro di Luna" project promoted by the Municipality with Theremin Srl Impresa Sociale and the Civic Music School.
The concert opened with the Bibit Coro del Castello di Atlante, followed by the Orchestra Giovanile Deltagramma together with the Ensemble Galaktica, the core of the Civic School's educational work. Closing the program was the Twisted Duo - Storie d'oltreoceano, with Serena Dominici (vocals) and Federico Rubin (piano), accompanied by special guest Francesco Milone on saxophone, in a musical journey between jazz and South American sounds. For the Orchestra Giovanile Deltagramma, the event represented the last performance before departing for Spain, where the ensemble was the protagonist of a series of concerts and an international cultural exchange.
