Spring is Celebrated Together

The Spring Festival of Carugo is the event that, on a Sunday in May, welcomes the beautiful season in the Municipality of Carugo, in the province of Como, in the heart of Brianza. Organized by the Pro Loco of Carugo together with the Municipality, it enlivens the Church Square, in Via Toti, with stands, activities, and festive moments designed for the entire community.

"Carugo and its Views"

The most characteristic moment of the day is the "Carugo and its Views" painting competition, an artistic contest open to all adult artists. Participants create a live artwork depicting a recognizable view or perspective of the Carugo territory, using any technique. The canvases are stamped at the gazebo set up in Via Toti in the early morning and returned in the afternoon, before the evening awards ceremony. It is an original way to enhance the village's landscape heritage and to animate the town's streets with easels and artists at work.

An Outdoor Village Festival

Around the painting competition, the Spring Festival offers the typical atmosphere of Brianza village festivals: the square fills with people, associations present their activities, and the mood is relaxed and convivial, typical of a day spent outdoors. It is an opportunity for the people of Carugo to gather and for visitors to discover the village in its spring guise.

Carugo and Como's Brianza

For the Municipality of Carugo, the Spring Festival is one of the events that mark the calendar of Pro Loco's initiatives, along with the Z Festival, the Carugo Octoberfest, and the Feast of San Zeno. A busy schedule that reflects the vitality of this corner of Como's Brianza, where volunteering and art find space in the town's squares.
