About Spring Festival

On May Day, Marostica's Chess Square comes alive with the Spring Festival: a day of open-air art, music, and tradition. The "Montmartre a Marostica" painting and sculpture exhibition transforms the square into an open-air gallery, while the famous cutting of the giant mortadella, accompanied by a band and free tasting, offers a moment of popular celebration. An event loved by all ages, with a play area for children.

May Day in the walled town

The Spring Festival is the May Day event in the historic center of Marostica (province of Vicenza, Veneto). For an entire day, the famous Chess Square transforms into a stage for art, music, and tradition, welcoming citizens and visitors in an atmosphere of spring celebration.

Montmartre in Marostica

Among the main attractions is "Montmartre a Marostica", the open-air painting and sculpture exhibition curated by the ARTEZ association, which fills the square with works and artists at work, in a nod to the famous Parisian artists' hill. An opportunity to admire and purchase works of art directly from the creators.

The cutting of the giant mortadella

The highlight of the day is the cutting of the giant mortadella, accompanied by the Malo City Band and followed by a free tasting for the public. There is also an area with inflatables for children, making the festival suitable for the whole family. The event is organized by Pro Marostica.
