The weekend that opens the beautiful season in Colli al Metauro
When the hills between the Metauro river and the Adriatic Sea are tinged with the first colors of the beautiful season, the Spring Festival draws the entire community of Colli al Metauro to the heart of the town. This is the first major event of the year for this Municipality in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, in the Marche region, and it is designed as a moment of gathering that unites local associations, merchants, and businesses in the area to welcome spring together.
The festival takes place on the weekend of Palm Sunday and transforms Piazza Pio Franchi De Cavalieri and Via Flaminia into one large celebration space. On Sunday, the main street is closed to traffic to make way for markets, hobbyists, open shops, and widespread entertainment, while the Colli Food gastronomic area, set up under a marquee, offers local specialties.
The program alternates evening shows and daytime activities: from dance revival concerts to tributes to the most beloved Italian music, up to itinerant shows that traverse the center. On Sunday morning, the ritual of the blessing of the palms is also renewed, a sign of the strong link between the festival and the Holy Week calendar.
Born over the years as an initiative promoted by local associations, including Metauro Eventi, and grown with the support of the Municipality of Colli al Metauro, the event is now a highly anticipated appointment that renews the collaboration between the different facets of the territory each year. Admission to all activities is free.
The Spring Festival 2026 animated the center of Colli al Metauro for two days, involving Piazza Pio Franchi De Cavalieri and Via Flaminia, which was closed to traffic on Sunday. The event, promoted by the Municipality and local associations with the Culture Councilor Francesco Tadei, combined music, the Colli Food gastronomic area, and many activities for children.
