The village festival that announces the good season in Sant'Ignazio di Filottrano
When spring is in full swing, the small hamlet of Sant'Ignazio, in the Municipality of Filottrano (province of Ancona, Marche), gathers around the Circolo Nunzio Lorenzini for its Spring Festival. It is one of those events that tell the most authentic soul of the Marche hinterland: no big stages or high-sounding names, but the warmth of a community that opens its marquee, turns on the stoves, and invites everyone to the table.
The festival is born and renewed in the name of devotion to the Blessed Virgin of Lourdes, to whom the community of Sant'Ignazio is particularly attached. Around this religious root, a popular event has been built over the years that combines moments of socializing, dancing, and gastronomy, organized by the Circolo Nunzio Lorenzini with the support of the local Pro Loco.
The real protagonist is the food stall, where you can taste the typical dishes of the Marche peasant tradition. Among the specialties that have made this festival famous are:
The evenings flow to the rhythm of ballroom dancing and live music with orchestras and duos from the Romagna and Marche tradition, while in the afternoons there is dancing in company. There are also popular games, such as card games with prizes (the famous pinella), which renew the convivial spirit of the village.
The Spring Festival of Sant'Ignazio is the ideal opportunity to discover the most genuine Filottrano, far from crowded tourist routes: a real, accessible, and family-friendly village festival, where food, music, and hospitality are worth more than any sign. A small collective ritual that, every spring, reaffirms the identity of a community in the Ancona hills.
The 2026 Spring Festival in Sant'Ignazio di Filottrano was held from April 23 to 26, 2026, around Liberation Day, according to the official event calendar of the Municipality of Filottrano. As per tradition, the Circolo Nunzio Lorenzini animated the village with food stalls featuring Marche flavors, evenings of ballroom dancing and live music, and popular games for all ages.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition (orchestras, dancing evenings, and card games) was not published online in full. The festival follows the established pattern of previous editions: evening opening of food stalls, dancing evenings with ballroom orchestras, afternoon music, and traditional games with prizes (including the pinella competition). For the exact schedule, please refer to the channels of Circolo Nunzio Lorenzini and the Municipality of Filottrano.
