The solidarity market for children and young people in the heart of Savignano sul Rubicone
The Spring Fair is one of the most heartfelt and attended events in Savignano sul Rubicone, a municipality in the province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna. For one spring Sunday, the historic city center — particularly Piazza Borghesi and Piazza Faberi — comes alive with a large solidarity market, live performances, and activities designed especially for children and young people.
The pulsating heart of the event is the market: colorful stalls where you can find handmade items or items donated by the younger generation. It's not just any market, but a concrete gesture of solidarity: all proceeds go to an international cooperation project. In recent years, the Fair has supported the project "Water, source of life and development in Cibitoke – Burundi", and each edition raises several thousand euros.
In addition to the stalls, the day is marked by stage performances, games, readings, and the presentation of works created by students from local schools. At noon, all participants pause for the "Time-Out", a minute of silence to call for world peace: a symbolic moment that sets the tone for the entire event, inspired by a multicultural message of brotherhood.
The Spring Fair is organized by the association Focolari Romagna APS together with the Parents' Association "A scuola con Cesare", with the support of the Municipalities, school institutions, and parishes of Savignano sul Rubicone and San Mauro Pascoli. It is a festival that puts young people at the center, making them protagonists of solidarity, and which for over fifteen years has been an anticipated event for the entire Rubicone area.
The 17th edition of the Spring Fair animated the center of Savignano sul Rubicone on Sunday, April 19, 2026, with a program focused on the theme "For a world of peace". From 10 AM to 6 PM, Piazza Borghesi and Piazza Faberi became a large market of items made or donated by children and young people, protagonists of the "culture of giving".
The day was marked by stage performances, games, and the presentation of students' work. At noon, the traditional "Time-Out", a minute of silence for world peace. The event, organized by Focolari Romagna APS with the Parents' Association "A scuola con Cesare", raised over 5,000 euros for the project in Burundi.
The proceeds from the event were donated to the project "Water, source of life and development in Cibitoke – Burundi".
The Spring Fair takes place on a Sunday between April and May in Piazza Borghesi and Piazza Faberi, in the center of Savignano sul Rubicone (FC), generally from 10 AM to 6 PM.
By car: exit Rimini Nord or Cesena from the A14 motorway, then follow Via Emilia (SS9). By train: Savignano sul Rubicone station is on the Bologna–Rimini–Ancona line, a short walk from the center.
Entry and participation in the event are free. Donations and purchases at the market support the solidarity project in Burundi.
