About Spring Carnival
The carnival that announces spring
The Spring Carnival is a recent but rapidly growing event in Montecchio Maggiore, in the province of Vicenza. As the name suggests, the parade of floats takes place after the carnival season has ended, to welcome the good season with colors, music, and joy.
The parade between Piazza Carli and Piazza Fraccon
The heart of the festival is the parade of traditional floats, which winds its way between Piazza Carli and Piazza Fraccon. The procession is led by the Majorettes Le Stelline of Creazzo and the Pietro Ceccato Band, followed by floats from the municipalities of the West Vicentino valley — from Montecchio Maggiore to Arzignano, Chiampo, Trissino, and beyond.
A valley festival
Organized by Pro Loco Alte Montecchio in collaboration with the Municipality of Montecchio Maggiore, the Spring Carnival involves school groups and local associations, becoming an occasion for shared celebration among the various municipalities of the West Vicentino area.
Spring Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Spring Carnival, the second one, will animate Montecchio Maggiore on Sunday, March 30, starting at 3:00 PM. The parade of floats, organized by Pro Loco Alte Montecchio with the Municipality, starts from the area adjacent to the amphitheater of Piazza Fraccon and involves ten floats from all over the valley.

Sunday, March 30, 2026 — Piazza Carli / Piazza Fraccon
- 3:00 PM — Opening of the parade with the Majorettes Le Stelline of Creazzo and the Pietro Ceccato Band
- Parade of traditional floats (ten floats from the valley), starting from the area adjacent to the amphitheater of Piazza Fraccon

How to get here
Montecchio Maggiore is on the A4 motorway (Montecchio Maggiore exit). The parade takes place between Piazza Carli and Piazza Fraccon, in the town center.
