Over 135 disciplines to try for free in the largest sports village by the sea
The Sport Festival is one of the most beloved and attended events in Genoa: every year the Old Port transforms into a gigantic sports village extending over 140,000 square meters overlooking the sea, from the Aquarium to Calata Gadda. In the 2025 edition, the event attracted around 140,000 visitors, numbers that place it among the major national sports events.
The heart of the festival is the opportunity to try over 135 sports disciplines for free, thanks to the presence of over sixty sports associations offering exhibitions and practical sessions: gymnastics, dance, martial arts, taekwondo, team sports, and many others. There are free fitness classes, tournaments, and activities specifically designed for children, such as the traditional "sports passport" that guides them in discovering the various disciplines.
Alongside sports, the festival offers shows and attractions that make it an event for the whole family. Among the new features are the K-Pop Dance Fight Fest, a qualifying round for a European dance championship, and the "Porto Antico Game Adventure", an interactive treasure hunt featuring Olpo the octopus. Special programs are dedicated to schools and integrated sports.
Organized by Porto Antico di Genova, the Sport Festival promotes the values of fun, friendship, and a healthy lifestyle. It is an opportunity to discover new passions, for sports clubs to gain visibility, and for the city of Genoa to experience its waterfront in an active and joyful way.
The 2026 edition of the Sport Festival, the 22nd, returns from May 22-24 at the Old Port of Genoa, covering over 140,000 square meters overlooking the sea. You can try over 135 disciplines for free, with exhibitions from over 60 sports associations.
