Orsenigo as a widespread gym

Sport Day & Il Giardino in Festa is the day dedicated to sport and the community of Orsenigo, a municipality in the province of Como. For an entire Sunday in early June, the historic centre of the town transforms into an open-air gym, with local sports clubs presenting their activities through exhibitions and demonstrations open to all.

Eighteen disciplines to try

The event's strength lies in its variety: around eighteen sports clubs liven up the day with disciplines ranging from football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, and rugby to more unusual offerings like gliding, rowing, orienteering, chess, and martial arts, including Zumba, dance, athletics, padel, and cycling. A showcase that invites people of all ages to experience it firsthand.

A map to cross the town

The festival is travelling: the headquarters is Piazza Filatoio, where participants receive a map to move between the various stations set up in the town — from the football pitch to the gyms, from the car parks to the areas around the Town Hall and schools. Each club has its own space to let people try their discipline, on a route that crosses the whole of Orsenigo.

Sport, community, and celebration

Organised by the Municipality of Orsenigo together with Polisport ASD and with the patronage of CONI Como, the event combines Sport Day with the "Il Giardino in Festa" festival, which in 2026 celebrates its fifteenth anniversary. The day concludes with a final aperitivo with music in the square, a convivial moment that seals a celebration designed to bring the town's community closer to sport and togetherness.
