The Spoleto Theatre Season is the prose programme that the Teatro Stabile dell'Umbria (TSU) offers at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti, in the heart of Spoleto, in the province of Perugia. A programme that runs from October to April and brings the best of contemporary Italian theatre to the city.

The programme alternates great classics and contemporary dramaturgy, with incursions into dance and national premieres. Leading performers and companies from the Italian scene take to the stage, balancing well-known titles with experimental proposals.
The theatre of the Two Worlds all year round

The 2025/2026 Theatre Season of Spoleto, curated by the Teatro Stabile dell'Umbria, continues in the early months of 2026 at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti. The programme features contemporary prose titles, a classic like Moby Dick interpreted by Moni Ovadia, Tennessee Williams's Suddenly, Last Summer, and dance by the MM Contemporary Dance Company.

- Sunday, February 8 — "Moby Dick", adaptation by Guglielmo Ferro, with Moni Ovadia (Captain Ahab), Nicolò Giacalone, Pap Yeri Samb, Filippo Rusconi
- Tuesday, March 10 — "Suddenly, Last Summer" by Tennessee Williams, directed by Stefano Cordella, with Laura Marinoni, Elena Callegari, Ion Donà, Leda Kreider, Edoardo Ribatto
- Wednesday, March 25 — "Mia mamma fa il notaio, ma anche il risotto" by and with Filippo Capobianco (Teatro Caio Melisso - Carla Fendi, outside the season ticket)
- Saturday, April 11 — "Ballade", MM Contemporary Dance Company, choreography by Mauro Bigonzetti and Enrico Morelli

How to get there
Spoleto is on the Rome-Ancona railway line; from the station, the centre can be reached by escalators and moving walkways. By car: take the Spoleto exit from the SS3 Flaminia. The Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti is located at Via Vaita Sant'Andrea 20.
