A village festival in the heart of Val Trebbia

The Spiedata dello Sportivo is one of the most cherished summer events in Travo, a small municipality in Val Trebbia in the province of Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna. Organized by U.S.D. Travese 1965, the local sports club, with the patronage of the Municipality, the event transforms the Municipal Sports Ground into a large convivial arena for four evenings, filled with long tables, the aroma of grilled food, and music until late at night.

De.C.O. skewers, the absolute stars

The name of the festival says it all: the spiedata is the ritual around which the entire evening revolves. The food stands tirelessly serve the famous De.C.O. skewers (Denominazione Comunale di Origine - Municipal Designation of Origin), a specialty of Piacenza tradition prepared and cooked according to the recipe recognized by the territory. Accompanying them are the wines of the Colli Piacentini and the typical cured meats of the province, in a simple and genuine menu that attracts many visitors from the city and surrounding valleys each year.

Music, folk dancing, and dancing under the stars

Alongside the food, the other great soul of the Spiedata is dancing. Each evening offers a different musical event: from folk orchestras that get couples on the dance floor, to DJ sets for the younger crowd, to live concerts. It's a proven formula that pleases all generations and makes the Travo Sports Ground a meeting point for the entire Val Trebbia community.

Travo, a village between nature and archaeology

The festival is also an excellent opportunity to discover Travo, a village overlooking the Trebbia river, known for its castle, archaeological park, and the landscapes of the Piacenza Apennines.
