Edition 2025 — South Tyrol Speck Festival

The 2025 edition of the South Tyrol Speck Festival PGI took place on September 27 and 28, 2025. Due to unfavorable weather forecasts, the event was moved from the summit of Plan de Corones to the center of Brunico, in Piazza Tschurtschenthaler and Piazza Municipio. Two days of tastings, gastronomy, and traditional music celebrated the speck that is the symbol of South Tyrol.

The 2025 edition of the South Tyrol Speck Festival PGI was held on September 27 and 28, 2025. Originally planned for the summit of Plan de Corones, the festival was moved to the center of Brunico, specifically to Piazza Tschurtschenthaler and Piazza Municipio, due to bad weather.

Saturday began at 10:00 AM with a traditional breakfast accompanied by music, followed at 12:30 PM by the official opening with the traditional slicing of a slab of South Tyrol Speck PGI. Throughout the entire weekend, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, market stalls, tastings of speck paired with South Tyrolean cheeses and wines, and regional dishes prepared by mountain hut chefs and volunteers enlivened the event.

The live music program was also rich: Saturday featured performances by the Giovani boemi of San Genesio, Alpine horn players, and Volxrock; Sunday saw performances by the children's Schuhplattler group from Riscone, Simmerinka, and Vollbluet. The round-trip cable car ticket cost 18 euros for the entire weekend, with departures from Riscone, Valdaora, or San Vigilio.
