Music in the Villa Sottocasa Park
Sottocasa in the Garden Festival is the section that brings music into the greenery of the Historic Garden of Villa Sottocasa, in Vimercate, a municipality in the province of Monza and Brianza. As part of a broader cultural project by the Municipality realized with Musicamorfosi, the showcase focuses on two late spring weekends and offers a journey that combines concerts, wellness, and outdoor culture.
Two Weekends, Two Souls
The program is divided into two distinct parts. The first weekend, dedicated to "Great Classics," features chamber orchestras, piano recitals, and ensembles that reinterpret classical repertoire. The second, titled "Barefoot in the Park," focuses on more experimental sounds and wellness, with percussion workshops, jazz and world music concerts, ecstatic dance, and yoga sessions.
Accessible Culture
Almost all events are free admission, with a few exceptions related to educational activities curated by MUST. The historic garden setting, accessible from Via Vittorio Emanuele and Parco Sottocasa, makes this showcase one of the most evocative events of Vimercate's cultural summer.

The 2026 edition of Sottocasa in the Garden Festival is held in the Historic Garden of Villa Sottocasa in Vimercate on the weekends of May 23-24 and May 30-31, 2026, divided into two complementary sections. Almost all events are free admission.

- Piano recital by Mélodie Gimard
- Musical walk through time with Martino Dondi
Sunday, May 24
- Canova Chamber Orchestra conducted by Enrico Pagano, with open rehearsals and afternoon concert (music by Mahler, Bernstein, Copland)
Second Weekend — "Barefoot in the Park"
Saturday, May 30
- Itinerant percussion workshop with Gennaro Scarpato
- Concert by the MARÇO trio
- Regenerative walk with yoga (Camilla Vigorelli)
Sunday, May 31
- Ecstatic Dance session
- "Musical Islands" by Gennaro Scarpato
- Tropical jazz concert by Linda Melodia, a tribute to Cesária Evora and Cape Verdean music

How to Get There
The Historic Garden of Villa Sottocasa is located in Vimercate (Monza and Brianza), with access from Via Vittorio Emanuele 53 and from Parco Sottocasa. The city is connected to Monza and Milan by tram-train and bus; by car, it can be reached from the Tangenziale Est of Milan.
Admission
Events are free admission, except for the educational activity on May 24 curated by MUST (15 euros per family).
