The Fano festival that intertwines music and sea, directed by Colapesce and Dimartino
Sopravènto is the musical event that has chosen Fano, in the Province of Pesaro and Urbino, as a stage for a poetic dialogue between songwriting and the Adriatic horizon. Born in 2024, the festival has quickly established itself as one of the most recognizable cultural events on the Marche coast, thanks to a formula that favors intimate concerts, attention to songwriting, and careful attention to the setting.
The heart of Sopravènto is its artistic direction entrusted to Colapesce and Dimartino, the Sicilian duo that has won over audiences and critics with their musical universe of luminous melancholy and Mediterranean imagery. They select the artists for the lineup, choosing voices capable of transforming the stage into a space for storytelling and listening, far from the logic of large mass gatherings.
The main venue for the evening concerts is the Ex Chiesa di San Francesco, a space with strong symbolic value in the historic center of Fano. The festival then extends to other locations in the city: the Lighthouse, the Darsena Borghese, the MEMO – Mediateca Montanari, and especially Spiaggia Sassonia, where the most poetic moment of the event takes place, the dawn concert facing the sea.
Among the innovations of recent editions is the Sopravènto Village, a space for active waiting along Via Garibaldi (Via dei Ciliegi), in the historic center of Fano: a place designed for pausing, eating and drinking something accompanied by a musical selection, before the evening concerts.
Promoted by Rebel House with the support of the Municipality of Fano and the patronage of the Marche Cultura Foundation, Sopravènto has become an important part of the cultural offerings of the Marche Region. Its ability to combine prominent names in Italian music with a cozy atmosphere and a strong territorial identity makes it a different experience from any other summer festival.
The third edition of Sopravènto animated Fano from May 15 to 17, 2026, once again under the artistic direction of Colapesce and Dimartino. The festival offered three evenings of intimate concerts at the Ex Chiesa di San Francesco, accompanied by numerous scattered events in the historic center and along the seafront.
Among the most anticipated moments was the dawn concert by Brunori Sas on Spiaggia Sassonia, with free admission, where the audience sat on the gravel as the sun rose over the Adriatic. A novelty this year was the international opening of the lineup with the duo Tarta Relena. All evenings were sold out or nearly sold out, confirming the growing popularity of the Fano event.

The festival lineup also included Nicolò Carnesi. The festival was further enriched by the Sopravènto Village along Via Garibaldi, a space for active waiting with food and beverage offerings and musical selection, and by scattered events at the Lighthouse, Darsena Borghese, and MEMO – Mediateca Montanari.
Fano is easily reachable by train (station on the Adriatic line Bologna–Lecce) and by car via the A14 motorway, Fano exit. The festival venues are located in the historic center and on the seafront, easily accessible on foot.
The evening concerts at the Ex Chiesa di San Francesco are held in an intimate format and tend to sell out quickly: it is advisable to purchase tickets in advance. The dawn concert on Spiaggia Sassonia is free admission.
For the dawn concert, bring something to sit on the beach gravel and clothing suitable for the early morning hours by the sea.
