Oliverian Notes

A review that fosters dialogue between music and culture

Oliverian Notes is one of the most refined events of the musical summer in Pesaro, in the Marche region. The review was conceived by Brunella Paolini, director of the Olivieri Foundation – Oliveriana Library and Museums, at the time when Pesaro joined the UNESCO Creative Cities of Music network. Right from the title, the initiative alludes to the double meaning of the word "notes": musical notes, but also written notes, annotations, and manuscripts that have been preserved for centuries in the renowned Oliveriana Library.

Music and words, an ancient bond

The common thread of the review is precisely the relationship between music and literature: two arts that have always influenced each other. Each evening highlights this dialogue, while also celebrating the extraordinary musicological heritage preserved on the shelves of the Oliveriana. The concerts range from early music to choral music, from singer-songwriter music to contemporary reinterpretations, always with a particular focus on the Pesaro area and its historical memory.

The venues of the review

Oliverian Notes is a widespread event that brings music to the most evocative locations in the city and its surroundings. Among the venues that have hosted past editions are the Courtyard of Palazzo Gradari, the courtyard of Palazzo Montani Antaldi (seat of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pesaro), city churches, and spaces in nearby municipalities such as Monteciccardo. Concerts typically take place in the evening, under the stars, in an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.

An event for everyone

One of the distinctive features of Oliverian Notes is the free admission to all concerts, subject to availability and without the need for booking. This makes the review a valuable opportunity to introduce the general public to classical music and to discover the cultural heritage of the province of Pesaro and Urbino.

The 2026 edition

The 2026 edition of Oliverian Notes is part of Pesaro's rich summer events calendar and is scheduled from July 23rd to 25th. The detailed program with concerts, artists, and venues will be announced by the Olivieri Foundation in the weeks preceding the event.
