About Feast of Saint Anthony

The Solemnity of Saint Anthony of Padua, on June 13th, is the most important religious festival in the city and one of the largest devotional events in Italy. At the Basilica of the Saint, solemn masses are celebrated throughout the day, culminating in the solemn procession that carries the statue and sacred relics of the Saint through the streets of Padua. Tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world reach the city to honor the "Saint of miracles," in a festival that intertwines faith, tradition, and civic identity.

The Solemnity of Saint Anthony, on June 13th, is the feast of the patron saint of Padua and one of the most heartfelt religious observances in Italy. The heart of the celebrations is the Basilica of the Saint, a destination for tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the world each year, devoted to the one whom popular tradition calls the "Saint of miracles".

Solemn Masses and the Great Procession

On June 13th, the Basilica remains open from early morning until late evening, with a succession of masses and celebrations. The culminating moments are the Pontifical Mass and the solemn afternoon Mass, at the end of which the procession with the statue and the sacred relics of the Saint takes place, crossing the streets of the center of Padua.

The Tredicina and Antonian June

The feast is preceded by the Tredicina, the thirteen days of preparation that mark the approach to the Solemnity. All of this is part of the broader Antonian June, full of religious and cultural initiatives. An event that renews each year the deep bond between Padua, in Veneto, and its Saint.

The Basilica of the Saint is open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM, with masses at 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11:30 AM, 1 PM, 3:30 PM, 5 PM, 7 PM, and 9 PM. At 11:30 AM, the Pontifical Mass by Bishop Claudio Cipolla; at 5 PM, the solemn Mass, followed by the procession with the statue and relics of the Saint through the city streets. The Tredicina runs from May 31st to June 12th.
