The Youth Festival of Martesana

Slang Week is a traveling festival involving twelve Municipalities in the northeastern area of the Metropolitan City of Milan, the so-called Martesana. Conceived by and for young people, it takes its name from "slang," the language of new generations, and aims to be a space for expression, participation, and creativity spread throughout the territory.

Over Thirty Free Events

The program includes more than thirty free events ranging from music, street art, sports, literature, theater, and creative arts. The events are designed participatorily, directly involving young people in their conception and realization.

The Grand Finale in Pioltello

The festival concludes in Pioltello (Metropolitan City of Milan), which hosts the grand finale. Among the city events: the theater performance at Liceo Machiavelli, the Street Art & Music event in the Limito underpass, and the Social Run, the solidarity run in Parco della Besozza that closes the event.

A Youth Policy Project

Slang Week is coordinated by Spazio Giovani Martesana, an organization active for over twenty years in youth policies in the area. The 2026 edition, the second, is titled "Slang Week – Free Spaces For Our Youth", a play on words that brings together the language of young people and the spaces of freedom dedicated to them.
