Edition 2025 — Sheep Festival

The second edition of the Sheep Festival took place on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Saracinesco. From 12:00 PM, the village welcomed visitors with strozzapreti with sheep ragù, arrosticini, and cheeses from the Floriani farm. At 6:00 PM, in the church of San Michele Arcangelo, the Orchestra of the Roman Musical Academy performed Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" with violinist Marco Fiorini.

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, Saracinesco hosted the second edition of the Sheep Festival, the event celebrating the pastoral tradition of the small village in the Monti Ruffi, near Rome. Starting at noon, the streets of the historic center came alive with food stands: the stars were strozzapreti with sheep ragù and arrosticini, accompanied by tastings and sales of cheeses from the Floriani farm.

In the late afternoon, the festival moved to the church of San Michele Arcangelo, where at 6:00 PM the Orchestra of the Roman Musical Academy, with violinist Marco Fiorini, performed Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons". As per tradition, the village was also enlivened throughout the day by mules, once used by inhabitants to transport goods along the alleys. The initiative, promoted by the municipal administration led by Mayor Marco Orsola, confirmed the festival as one of the most cherished summer events in the Aniene Valley.

Programme

12:00 PM: Opening of food stands with strozzapreti with sheep ragù, arrosticini, and cheeses from the Floriani farm. 6:00 PM: Concert by the Orchestra of the Roman Musical Academy in the church of San Michele Arcangelo — Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons", violin soloist Marco Fiorini.
