Performances, cinema, exhibitions, and discussions on neurodivergence in Sesto Fiorentino
The Sguardi Sensibili Festival was born in Sesto Fiorentino, in the Metropolitan City of Florence, as a multidisciplinary event built entirely around the theme of neurodivergence. The guiding principle chosen by the organizers is clear from the festival's title: to understand, embrace, and celebrate neurodivergence, viewed as one of the most common and precious expressions of human diversity, from autism to dyslexia, and from ADHD to learning disabilities.
For nearly a month, the program weaves together different artistic languages: theatrical performances, film screenings, art exhibitions, literary meetings, and round-table discussions. This approach allows the theme to be explored from various angles, alternating the emotional storytelling of the stage with the collective reflection of public forums, and the visual insights of exhibitions and cinema.
The festival takes place in two iconic cultural landmarks of the city: the Centro Culturale La Lucciola, at Piazza IV Novembre 55, which hosts most of the performances and talks, and the Centro Espositivo Antonio Berti, at Via Pietro Bernini 57, which houses the exhibition space dedicated to the theme.
Organized by the Zera Cultural Association under the artistic direction of Andrea Bruni and Alessia De Rosa, Sguardi Sensibili consciously chooses accessibility as a core value: most events are free to attend, and ticketed shows maintain affordable prices. The goal is to build a more aware and welcoming community, capable of recognizing differences as a source of richness rather than a limitation. For Sesto Fiorentino and the entire Florentine area, it is a cultural highlight that combines artistic quality with social commitment.
The inaugural edition of the Sguardi Sensibili Festival opened on April 2, 2026, in conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day, and concluded on April 24. The program intertwined theater, cinema, art, and public discussion, under the artistic direction of Andrea Bruni and Alessia De Rosa for the Zera Cultural Association in Sesto Fiorentino.
