Volcanic Wines and Trekking Among the Basaltic Hills

Selvaticamente is the new wine-tourism event created by the Associazione Identità Basaltiche, dedicated to wines born on the basaltic volcanic soils of Montebello Vicentino (Vicenza) and nearby Gambellara. These are territories internationally recognized for their unique geology, which gives the wines exceptional minerality and character.

How the Day Works

Participants explore the hills on foot or by bicycle along an itinerary through the vineyards. Ten local wineries open their doors for tastings, connected by a free shuttle service. Each participant receives an Explorer Kit with a paper map, a card for ten tasting glasses, and an official cap.

The Aperitif in the Piazza

After the hours spent in the vineyards, the day concludes with a grand aperitif in the Piazza in Selva di Montebello, accompanied by music and a DJ set. It's a convivial moment that brings together walkers, cyclists, and wine enthusiasts at sunset.
