Saperi e Sapori di Honio is a gastronomic and cultural walk that winds its way between Vertova and Fiorano al Serio, two municipalities in Val Seriana, in the province of Bergamo. "Honio" refers to the ancient name of the territory: the route alternates walking sections with stops dedicated to culture, art, and local food and wine and artisanal excellences.
Territories in Light
The initiative is part of the Territori in Luce project, a series of events designed to enhance Val Seriana from a landscape, historical, cultural, and gastronomic perspective. The project is promoted by the Municipality of Gandino as the lead entity, with the collaboration of numerous municipalities in the valley, and is funded by the Lombardia Style 2026 call of the Lombardy Region.
A day to experience
The walk includes departure from the Vertova Cultural Centre Testori and stops along the route to Fiorano al Serio, with theatrical readings, plein air art workshops, tastings, and cultural visits. An opportunity to discover the valley at a slow pace, amidst art, tradition, and local products.
Saperi e Sapori di Honio — edition 2026
The first edition of Saperi e Sapori di Honio takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The walk starts from the Vertova Cultural Centre Testori and continues towards Fiorano al Serio, alternating walking sections with cultural, artistic, and gastronomic stops.
The event is part of the Territori in Luce project, promoted by the Municipality of Gandino as the lead entity with the municipalities of Val Seriana and funded by the Lombardy Region. Participation requires registration.
Programme Saperi e Sapori di Honio 2026
Sunday, June 14, 2026
- 8:45 AM — Welcome and kit collection at Centro Culturale Testori (Vertova).
- 9:30 AM — Start of the walk.
- 10:00 AM — Cultural stop in Piazza San Lorenzo with theatrical reading "The Man Who Planted Trees" by Francesca Beni.
- 12:00 PM — Artistic-experiential stop at La Cloca with painting workshop "Postcards from the Territory".
- 1:00 PM — Gastronomic stop at Parco di via Milano with outdoor lunch and tasting of local specialties.
